Personalised CoinsPosted: July 9th, 2010 | Author: admin | Filed under: Printed Confectionery | No Comments »
Are you one of those characters who get’s up at the crack of dawn, scouring beaches with their metal detectors, only to find loose change and a ring pull?
Well Dave Crisp, from Devizes in Wiltshire has found one of the largest ever finds of Roman coins in Britain has been made by a man using a metal detector. The hoard of more than 52,000 coins dating from the 3rd Century AD was found buried in a field near Frome in Somerset. The coins were found in a huge jar just over a foot (30cm) below the surface by “I have made many finds over the years, but this is my first major coin hoard,” he said. After his metal detector gave a “funny signal”, Mr Crisp says he dug down 14in before he found what had caused it. “I put my hand in, pulled out a bit of clay and there was a little Radial, a little bronze Roman coin. Very, very small, about the size of my fingernail.” Somerset County Council Heritage Service now hope the coroner will declare the find as treasure. That would allow the Museum of Somerset to acquire the coins at market value with the reward shared by Mr Crisp and the land owner. If you feel a bit cheesed of because you haven’t found a hoard of treasure, you may appreciate some branded chocolate coins. Branded chocolate coins are a fun promotional idea, which can either be fully bespoke, or can be selected from a wide range of existing coin shapes. Branding ChocolatePosted: June 3rd, 2010 | Author: admin | Filed under: Marketing & Branding, Printed Confectionery | Tags: Sweet Things | No Comments »
Cadbury’s Flake is ditching its famous strap-line ‘Only the crumbliest, flakiest chocolate’ , after their new owners Kraft, feel a change of direction is needed for their marketing. The latest TV add for the chocolate bar will mark a shift in strategy for Cadbury’s Flake, as one of the longest-running strap-lines in Britain will be axed.
Created by Fallon, the TV ad airs on 8 June on Channel 4, featuring new Flake girl ballerina Yulia Lobova. The ads vanished without a trace in 2004, but were since resurrected when the brand re-launched in 2007, with multi accented Joss Stone as the new star.
If you want to use chocolate to promote your business, then contact the branded confectionery experts over at Sweets2order.com. Branded chocolate bars are their bread and butter (so to speak). Why not make it more difficult for them, and ask them for a branded chocolate ingot or a bespoke chocolate business card!
Rest assured that any branded chocolate bought from sweets2order is made to the highest standards, either here in the UK or from the continent. Beware of rival suppliers offering cheap promotional chocolate that was swept from the floor of a Chinese factory. |

Promotional Easter ProductsPosted: March 10th, 2010 | Author: admin | Filed under: Printed Confectionery | Tags: New Promotions | No Comments »
If you get your skates on, you can still have some promotional Easter items in time, for well Easter.
Promotional confectionery items lend themselves to the Easter season, as we all celebrate Jesus Christ rising from the dead, by gorging ourselves on cheap chocolate eggs, decorated with rabbits.
It’s a bit weird when you think about it isn’t it. Although we have it much easier then in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, where rather then treating themselves to a bit of chocolate, and if it’s a nice day, roll some eggs down a hill for a laugh with their family, they have a tradition of spanking or whipping each other on Easter Monday. In the morning, men spank women with a special handmade whip called a pomlázka (in Czech) or korbáč (in Slovak), or, in eastern Moravia and Slovakia, throw cold water on them.
Anyway, quality promotional confectionery supplier Sweets2order, can offer a wide range of eye catching Easter promotions to show off the softer side of your corporate identity. One my favourite Easter promotional items, is the loveable promotional Lindt bunny branded with your very own full colour message! |
Fairtrade ChocolatePosted: February 22nd, 2010 | Author: admin | Filed under: Printed Confectionery | Tags: Ethical | No Comments »
Fairtrade sales were up 12% in 2009 despite the tough economic climate as shoppers increasingly turned to products approved by the only independent guarantee of a better deal for Third World producers.
Last year, sales of Fairtrade goods reached an estimated retail value of £799m and the Fairtrade Foundation also claims that 71% of people who do not already buy everything they can Fairtrade, are willing to swap one or more products during Fairtrade Fortnight which starts today. Although I don’t think even 5% of the population even know it is Fairtrade Fortnight.
Fairtrade products have found their way into the promotional product market too. If you want to market your businesses along especially ethical lines, then choosing Fairtrade promotional confectionery is a distinctive way to get your message across. Fairtrade promotional confectionery is only available from certain quality distributers, such as Gift Selection and Sweets2order. If you have any questions relating to any Fairtrade promotional confectionery, give their friendly sales team a call.
If your organisation did decide to swap their promotional confectionery for Fairtrade promotional confectionery, they would be following a trend from major chocolate suppliers. Last year, large brands that have switched to Fairtrade included Cadbury Dairy Milk, all Starbucks espresso-based coffee and Nestle’s four-finger Kit Kat. This week, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream announced that it is going 100% Fairtrade in the UK and throughout Europe by the end of 2011. While back last month, Green & Black’s switched its entire range of chocolate bars and beverages to 100% Fairtrade by the end of 2011. |
Romantic TimesPosted: February 4th, 2010 | Author: admin | Filed under: Printed Confectionery | No Comments »
I don’t think it is actually possible to conceive of anything tackier, but Katie Price and Alex Reid have married in Las Vegas, and will now live happily ever after.
They said in a statement: “We are very much in love and look forward to the future together.” Price also apologised for her behaviour since her break-up with former husband Peter Andre, saying she had “acted like a right twit”. I presumed she made a spelling mistake there.
Speaking on The Chris Moyle’s Show on Radio 1 on Wednesday morning, Peter Andre said he had “no negative feelings” about the marriage of Price and Reid (while sobbing into his diamante studded T Shirt). If you’re also thinking of getting married, perhaps not in the media spotlight, but married none the less – you may consider some branded confectionery to add a little something to your guest’s tables.
Unlike most promotional confectionery suppliers, Gift Selection in conjunction with Sweets2order can supply practically any piece of promotional confectionery items. For something traditional, having some sugared almonds in a branded pot would be a neat touch. Sweet Valentine IdeasPosted: January 13th, 2010 | Author: admin | Filed under: Printed Confectionery | Tags: Seasonal | No Comments »
It is that time of year again when lovers proudly walk hand in hand, beaming with happiness, there inner glow shinning strongly. I’ll most likely be spending the day in a dark room, starring at the ceiling.
Anyway, if your organisation is investing in some promotional confectionery for this romantic time, you could do a lot worse than checking out Sweets2order and browsing their latest range of Valentine related promotional sweets and chocolate. The history of sending gifts on Valentines day, can be traced to when Paper Valentines began being popular in England in early 1800s. These little gifts were soon manufactured in quantity, and assembled in factories. Before long, ornate Valentines were made with genuine lace and ribbons, with paper lace introduced in mid 1800’s.
As a writer in the Graham’s American Monthly observed in 1849, “Saint Valentine’s Day… is becoming, nay it has become, a national holyday.” Over in the United States, the first mass-produced valentines of embossed paper lace were produced and sold shortly after 1847 by a chap called Esther Howland of Worcester, Massachusetts.
From a corporate perspective, if you’re looking for branded chocolates, branded love hearts or even want something bespoke – talk to the friendly team over at sweets2order. |
Cadbury Under ThreatPosted: January 12th, 2010 | Author: admin | Filed under: Current Affairs, Printed Confectionery | No Comments »
One of Britain’s best loved businesses, Cadbury, is under threat from a hostile bid from rival confectioner Kraft. Cadbury have reiterated that their shareholders should reject Kraft’s takeover bid, since the businesses has enjoyed an “outstanding” performance last year.
“Don’t let Kraft steal your company with its derisory offer,” was the message by chairman Roger Carr, after boasting that they where performing better then market expectations. He went on to say that “The issue looking forward for them is for Kraft to make this pay for their shareholders they have to extract large synergies.”
Kraft remains the only current bidder for Cadbury, after Swiss food giant Nestle ruled itself out, although US confectioner Hershey has previously expressed interest in a potential bid.
If you’re looking for branded chocolate for promotional purposes, then Gift Selection in conjunction with Sweets2order has hedged their bets by being able to supply branded chocolates from both camps.
My favourite promotional item from these top suppliers is the branded Cadbury Mini Chocolate Pot. This fun little promotional pot, features a vibrant full colour doming which is ideal if you have a colourful message you need to get across. The strong Cadbury brand too will reinforce the quality image of your corporate identity! |
Branded Tic TacsPosted: December 4th, 2009 | Author: admin | Filed under: Printed Confectionery | Tags: Sweet Things | No Comments »I’m sure you’ve all seen branded mints before, such as branded mint cards or printed clic clacks. However if you’re looking for some branded mints that are more recognisable, then we can now offer Tic Tacs with bespoke packaging! They were first produced in 1969 and have been a popular product throughout their history. They are usually sold in small transparent plastic boxes with a flip-action living hinge lid. Originally, Tic Tacs were dyed the specific colours, such as green, red or orange. Now, in many countries, the transparent plastic boxes are coloured for the specific flavours and the actual Tic Tacs inside are white. Branded mints are a breath of fresh air (sorry), but on a serious note, they do create a novel and effective way of promoting practically any organisation. If you require any sort of branded mint, then contact the friendly promotional confectionery experts over at sweets2order who will be happy to help. |
